My FAB BAG June

Hey all,

I know it's been like forever since my last post but life was just tooooooo busy, managing home and office is somehow getting difficult for me. But I have learned to manage it gradually.

Today I'll share you what I received in my May FAB BAG, though I got it in June :P
BTW this is my second FAB BAG & I've subscribed for 3 months plan.

I received the following:

1. Be A Bombshell eyeshadow - Bora Bora
2. Vana Vidhi Oriental Rice Paddy face & body scrub
3. SaND for soapaholics after glow
4. Fab bag bonus scarf

MY TAKE:

I liked the blue and white striped bag. Dunno why but it reminds me of some uniform. BUT I didnt liked the scarf AT ALL. Firstly it didn't seems that expensive to me (One can get a good full length dupatta or a super chic stole in 500 rupees, at least where in Bhopal). It is too short to wear and the appears as used up already. Now since it's of no use to me as a scarf, I am using it as a hanger for my hair clips and clutchers.

The Rice Paddy scrub is good it has brown rice as base and whole lot of other oils in it, like jojoba oil, lavendar, olive oil etc in it. It smells good and acts as a decent scrub as well.

The SaND after glow is my FAVOURITE of the lot. It has masoor dal in it which works wonders for my skin and complexion. I used it on wet face and could really see the difference after mere one wash. The only downside though is it's smell. Yiiiikes it is.

Lastly is the Be A Bombshell eye shadow that has four colours in it. Three of them are basic neutrals and one is aqua blue. I liked the product but it would have been better if it had an applicator or at least a mirror to it.

Below are the prices of the products:

That's all form this months' FAB BAG. Will catch up with you guys soon again.

Bye :)

Which color to wear...??

I have to attend a dinner today and while browsing my wardrobe I came around an orange coloured dress. I don't know why I haven't worn it many times like other such dresss. May be it's the colour. The orange which is paired with green may make me look like a Bajrang Dal member or something.

Anyways this made me realize there are different colors towards which we are biased. Here's how you can know which is YOUR color and from which shall you sustain.

Red
Want to get someone's attention? Red is your color! The color red empowers and draws attention toward the wearer. It's also strongly associated with romance and passion, making it a perfect date-night color. But be careful - it's also been said that red stimulates the appetite and makes us hungry for junk food, so wear with caution if you're trying to eat healthier.

Orange
Like red, orange draws attention and energy, but unlike intense red, it's a little more soothing. While orange is a difficult color for some skin tones to pull off, if you have the coloring to work it, orange will help put you in a positive, energetic mood.

Yellow
Sunny shades of yellow are the perfect thing to cheer you up on a bad day, so if you're feeling down, wearing yellow could help perk you back up. Yellow is also associated with intelligence and inspiration, so wearing something yellow on the day of your big final exam might help you come up with some extra answers.

Green
Shades of green are calm and soothing, as well as associated with nature and the outdoors. That's why green is one of spring's most popular shades. Green is also refreshing and has been found to reduce stress in those who look at it. If you're feeling really overwhelmed during finals week, add green to your outfit and you might feel more relaxed.

Blue
Blue is a color that can be both peaceful and calming as well as cold and standoffish. If you're feeling really stressed out, the color blue can help you feel more relaxed. If you're sad, however, you might want to steer away - the color blue can subconsciously make you feel more "blue." Studies also show that blue can make you more creative, so if you want to channel some genius for your art project, wearing blue might be able to help. It can't hurt, right?

Purple
Regal and sophisticated, purple is associated with creativity and luxury. Like red, purple is a very stimulating color which can boost your energy level when you see it. It's also a color that's sometimes associated with spirituality and intuition, so if you're having trouble making a decision, paint your nails lavender and see what comes to you.

Pink
Of course we all know pink as the true girly-girl's favorite color, but it's also associated with romance and happiness. Pink is very calming, so don't wear it if you need tons of energy. Because of its romance association, pink is a good choice for a date. You can also wear it anytime you're a little bummed out for a boost. Of course, if you personally hate pink, then (obviously) this won't work for you.

White
Missing summer on a cold spring day? Wear white! It reflects light and reminds us of sunnier days. It's also associated with peace, innocence, simplicity, and cleanliness, although in Japan, white carnations mean death - who knew? Wear white when you want to bring out any other colors you're wearing - it enlivens anything you pair with it.

Black
If you're going for a promotion at work or interviewing for a new job, you might want to wear black - it signifies power, seriousness, authority, and responsibility, all qualities your boss is likely looking for. Outside the office, black is also a color that will give you some rocker-chick edge. If you're shy but want to feel like a badass one day, some black studded ankle boots should do the trick!

That's all for now. See u all later.

Make up tricks : Version I

If you know Bhopal, the probability is either you've heard of Rose Beauty Salon or you have definitely there (no matter even if to accompany a friend). That is one place in bhopal that excels in bridal make-up. But people have taken it way too seriously and think that one is supposed to transform into a porcelain-like doll for every occasion, big or small.

There is no such thing as a magic wand for make-up that will instantly transform you into a beautiful fairy. Moreover why change ourselves, we just need to bring the attention to the good part of our face and draw away the attention from  "not so good" features.

Here are a few tips and tricks to give a professional look to your make-up:

1. Never add layers of foundation. Women just go on slathering any foundation like mad and end up looking like horrific creatures

The purpose of foundation is not giving fairness but just even out your skin tone. Your foundation should be one matching your skin's undertone. To determine your undertone read here http://mintyhot.blogspot.in/2014/10/whats-your-skin-undertone.html

Just how perfectly this pic explains my points over foundation

2. Please don't ignore your neck and back. They are your body parts too, isn't it? Apply a little pancake or compact there too.

3. You don't want to become a clown, right? so concentrate on anyone among eyes and lips. Whichever, among the two, is your asset, play around with your art on it and if you feel none of the both are good enoughthen you might jst create one with your tools and tricks.

Please underplay with any one among eyes and lips

4. After you are  dome with your make up completely, run your mascara wand lightly over your brows. You can also use eye brow pencils and shape your eye brows. Perfect eye-brows are like half work done.

5. Use either pancake or stick. It's better if you use foundation after concealing your spots, then pancake, only if required, and then loose powder. I believe compact is a bag accessory and needed only for touch-ups.

I'll  keep on sharing these tricks with you, as i'd discover them.

Till then try these on and share if you know some useful tips too.

lakme 9 to 5 crease-less lipstick in "CP9 Brick Lead "

My never ending search for a perfect pink everyday lippy helps me explore various products. I like 9 to 5 range of Lakme, especially the lipsticks, but not a fan of its' foundation though. The reasons are price and packaging (lovely shade of rose gold).

The 9 to 5 lipstick (older one) was good for me but during winters or when I suffered dry lips, it didn't quite worked for me. Then when these 'crease-less' lipsticks were launched I decided to give it a try.

Although to my dismay, the product does not give a crease-less finish to the lips :( Also I noticed the color faded away too soon as compared to the older version of 9 to 5 lipsticks. Layering of product is required if you want a rich and opaque color.

Single Swatch

It doesn't have any kind of remarkable smell but I liked the color it gave (for a small time).

Price : 450 INR

Rating : 2 / 5 (2 for color and packaging only)

Recommendation : Not meant for dry lips even though it says 'crease-less' also not for pigmented lips as it doesn't not give much color. There a whole lot of variety of shades and also the price is not much expensive.
