lakme 9 to 5 crease-less lipstick in "CP9 Brick Lead "

My never ending search for a perfect pink everyday lippy helps me explore various products. I like 9 to 5 range of Lakme, especially the lipsticks, but not a fan of its' foundation though. The reasons are price and packaging (lovely shade of rose gold).

The 9 to 5 lipstick (older one) was good for me but during winters or when I suffered dry lips, it didn't quite worked for me. Then when these 'crease-less' lipsticks were launched I decided to give it a try.

Although to my dismay, the product does not give a crease-less finish to the lips :( Also I noticed the color faded away too soon as compared to the older version of 9 to 5 lipsticks. Layering of product is required if you want a rich and opaque color.

Single Swatch

It doesn't have any kind of remarkable smell but I liked the color it gave (for a small time).

Price : 450 INR

Rating : 2 / 5 (2 for color and packaging only)

Recommendation : Not meant for dry lips even though it says 'crease-less' also not for pigmented lips as it doesn't not give much color. There a whole lot of variety of shades and also the price is not much expensive.

Coloressence compact powder in Ivory Beige

Its been a long time that I reviewed anything. I was busy shopping actually ;) it's festival everywhere and you can't miss those deals after all. Recently I had bought few coloressence products and one of them is this compact.

I've tried most of maybelline's compacts and was happy with "maybelline clear glow". But then I want to explore. Who knows there might be that PERFECT compact waiting for me and I not making enough efforts. So I found this compact and believe me this is THE ONE.

Firstly it ain't too costly. it costs 160 rupees only and I believe Coloressence as a brand is gaining importance in the market gradually. I bought Lakme perfect radiance compact before buying this one but it fell and broke down after 2-3 days only :'(

The packaging is different from those conventional compacts that have a mirror and a puff inside it. This one has separate compartment for its puff which is soft enough. The mirror is also attached to the puff compartment.

The shade is CP-2 Ivory Beige which has subtle yellowish tint and suits my warm undertones. I use it over Ponds' BB cream and it lasts for about 3-4 hours. I had even gone 12 hours with only 3 touch ups and it didn't made me look cakey :D

just one swipe

This has been the first time that I had relied on a compact so severely. It gives really good tone, coverage and lasting impact to me. It does gives a matte finish which is not flaky..

The Good:
Price
I like the fragrance too
No animal ingredients, Mineral makeup
Different compartment for mirror and puff
Amazing coverage and lasting

The Bad:
As such nothing, but it would have been even better if it had SPF.

Chambor Dazzle Transfer Proof Eye Pencil Review

Yet another Chambor jewel. I must say I was unaware of this brand few years back until bhopal's famous hair stylist Waseem recommended this brand to me. Though he said it's hair dryers are good, I haven't bought that but few cosmetics instead.

Kajals are any girls' best friends, except those who have dark circles but even they love to wear it. I do not try much kajals as such coz I prefer home-made kajal, which my mom makes for me. And it is simply perfect, it is absolute black in colour, doesn't smudge or gets runny and has got amazing staying power. Still only to satisfy my shopping instincts I buy kajals at times.

Can't show you the length of kajal as the stick is non retractable.

I bought these becoz I needed a jade coloured liner. These are pen like liners and though they say Dazzle there isn't much shimmer in it. You need to twist the pen to bring the kajal but the not-so-good part is they are non-retractable so you cannot guess when is it about to end. They are gel like and easy to apply. They give a decent coverage and doesn't smudge.

These are just one swatch of each!!
Upper lash line has black one and lower lash line has jade one

It lacks any kind of smell but that's good. I do not apply anything but home-made kajal on my waterline so don't know how this would perform there. Overall, this one is a good kajal for those looking for a long lasting kajal.

Good:
Intense colour
Long lasting
Water proof and Smudge proof
Easy to use

Bad:
Non-retractable
Cannot be sharpened
Limited colours

Price: Don't remember exactly but around 500.

Recommendation: YES to all office or college going girls who want a decent kajal for whole day. Though can't say anything about how it would look and feel on the waterline of eyes.

L'oreal Paris True match le blush Review

Roose (R-oo-z) is what blushes were once called. It was in my childhood and I didn't know then that there may be other colours except pink that could be used on cheeks.
But now times have changed and so have I, so I now call them Blush only :P
Though I do not use blush regularly, I feel it does defines my face. So this is the blush that I usually wear, i.e. when I am wearing,

L'oreal Paris Le Blush True Match

The shade is called Rosewood and is pink in colour. I like the sturdy packing and that the brush and mirror are a part of it. It does not have any particular smell and the texture is quite smooth. Although it's powder, it does not fades away easily. On my oily skin, it stays for upto 4 hours. It does not have shimmer in it (Thank God).

This is how the blush looked on me with 3 swipes

Available shades :

Sandalwood pink (for light to medium skin tones)
Nude pink (for light to medium skin tones)
Rosewood (for light to medium skin tones)
Candy cane pink (for medium to dark skin tones)
Nude brown (for medium to dark skin tones)

Price: 650 INR.

Rating : B+

Recommendation : There isn't anything magical about it. But if you like using blushes that have a decent longevity then you might give it a try.

L'oreal Paris Color Riche Nutri Shine lipstick C401 Review

I love coral colored lippies. That is the reason why I bought this sometime back. It's L'oreal Paris Color Riche Nutri Shine lipstick in coral, shade number C401.

By the name itself, these have loads of shimmer and shine. The pack has the color of the shade available, like coral for coral and pink for pink. The lipstick is flat from the top and is sleek. It doesn't have any particular smell.

My experience: Firstly I have pigmented lips, so anything that's subtle or mild won't do any good to me. This one too couldn't serve the purpose. The color of this lippy is so light that I need to apply it more than twice to show up. Secondly, it fades away quickly. The good thing is it doesn't settle in the fine lines and also does not look too shimmery on lips. The texture is very smooth. You can also apply it on dry lips and no one will notice the dryness. It lasted for 2-3 hours with snacks in between.

Price : 850 INR

Rating : B-

Recommendation: I won't re-buy it and am also not in mood of purchasing any other color from this range as it does not provide much coverage to pigmented lips. Though if you have clear lips, you might give it a try as the texture is really good.

Chambor Enriched Revitalizing Make-up Review

Hey, long time no post. Yes as it was EID :D and I bought this for it.

I don't know if this is a problem with you guys too or is it just me? I have, till date, not found a foundation which suits my skin best. There are good ones, better ones but not the 'just right' one yet. Chambor foundation was my find when I was purchasing beauty products before my wedding. And this is one among those better ones.

There are three shades in all, natural, honey and vanilla. Last one was natural and this is honey. Its is my second buy, although the last one was one shade darker. I bought Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse after that but found it a little heavy in texture and made my skin look greyish. :/

Chambor Enriched Revitalizing Make-up is somewhat lighter in texture and has a good coverage too. It has SPF 18 which is bonus for me, as I am never out in the sun without wearing an SPF. Also it does not leave a whitish cast and neither settles in fine lines on face.

The bottle is made up of glass and has a nozzle to dispense the foundation. It is covered with a plastic cap. The smell is somewhat 'like all other foundation', nothing much noticeable and will vanish after minutes of application.

Blended

I have tried pairing this with Chambor's compact and other pancakes and compacts too and it gives a non-oily and fresh look to my face. As far as the longevity is concerned, it lasts well for 3-4 hours without much sweat involved.

Price is the reason why it took me little time for the second buy and divert to Maybelline. It costs me 1125/- Bit expensive as I wear foundations too often.

Rating : B+

Recommendation: Ofcourse yes! This is my second buy. The only con is its price, that too in case you use foundation frequently.

Lakme Enrich Satins 138 Review

Remember the Lakme Enrich Satins lipstick I ordered from Jabong, let's have a look at it.

Firstly, when I saw this earlier, some 5 years ago, the tube was not so appealing and quite aunty types. But now they have gone matt with the tube. Good for it.

Shade is 138, the colour is 'deep wine' with shimmer on it. I didn't find it moisturizing enough and may not be good to wear when my lips are dry.

I applied just one swipe and it covered my pigmented lips well but it got worn out from the inside of my lips after a meal only :( otherwise it lasted for 3 hours.

This is just one swatch

I liked the smell of it, it's nothing fruity. It fades away after a few minutes of application.

I don't know what is it, but since childhood I've loved the smell of lipsticks that smell nothing like fruits. Seriously, I used to sniff my mom's and aunt's lipsticks a lot. (Should I be worried about that?)

Providing that it costed me only 220 rupees, this isn't a bad buy.

In a nutshell:

Coverage: 3/5
Smell: 3/5 (you know why)
Longevity: 2.5/5
Anything special: Nopes

Frankly, I think purchasing cosmetics online isn't a good idea as the colour may vary in photos and in real. Moreoever, the product might get damaged, though they always get them replaced but isn't that a headache, sending it back and again waiting for the product to arrive. Phew! Too much for me. What do you think?

Order arrived from Jabong

Firstly, sorry that I am posting this so late, I should have posted this day before yesterday only, i.e on Tuesday, when my order from Jabong arrived. Yes, I ordered on Saturday and received on Tuesday, the 7th, though they estimated the delivery time to be on or before 11th. Ten on Ten to Jabong for that.

The order arrived in a packaging similarly to packaging of many other online shops, except that the lipstick was in a cute black box. The box was an interesting and different thing, it says "Gorgeous Inside" on top and has the meaning on 'Jabong' inside it.

What's in the Black Box?

I am quite happy with the quality of bag, but it would have been even better if the PU was a little shiny and the handle had a charm like some hanging thing on it. The lipstick was a fresh one, packed in showroom packaging and was NOT runny, which I was scared of it getting, given the hot climate these days here in Bhopal. Will review the lipstick later.

I am quite happy with Jabong.com as of now. Will surely consider repurchasing from it again. Share if you've had any bittersweet encounters with online shopping.

Till then Take Care & Chao lovelies!
